The partnership brings together two major players in Uganda's media industry. Next Media operates a diverse portfolio of television stations, radio stations and digital platforms, while Capital Radio Group owns Capital FM, Beat FM and KIIS FM.

Under the arrangement, the two organisations will collaborate on content sharing, cross-platform audience engagement, digital integration and innovative advertising solutions while maintaining their separate brands, editorial independence and operational structures.

Speaking during the engagement, Mungoma described the partnership as a natural progression of a relationship that has already produced successful collaborations.

"We are excited about it because we have worked with the Next Media Group before on several collaborations that have connected with millions of audiences in Uganda. This is a natural evolution of what we started, and we believe it will create more opportunities for our listeners and viewers to enjoy content across different platforms," he said.

Mungoma noted that the partnership presents an opportunity to merge the strengths of radio broadcasting with visual and digital storytelling.

"Radio stations have always created content consumed by listeners. What we are now saying is that this content can be shared across platforms that offer strong visual and digital capabilities, creating exciting experiences for audiences," he added.

Ben Mwine, Head of Corporate Affairs and Partnerships at Next Media, said the collaboration is intended to maximise the strengths of both organisations to create greater value for audiences and advertisers.

"If you look at what both organisations have been building as ecosystems, the idea is how we can use those strengths to create greater value for audiences and advertisers, increase nationwide reach, and deliver better experiences through cross-platform engagement and content sharing," Mwine said.

Industry observers say partnerships of this nature are becoming increasingly important as media companies adapt to changing audience consumption habits and growing demand for integrated content experiences across radio, television, digital and mobile platforms.

The collaboration is expected to create opportunities for joint content development, audience engagement initiatives and commercial innovation while strengthening the reach and influence of both organisations across Uganda.

For the two media houses, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation, quality content and delivering greater value to audiences in an increasingly interconnected media environment.
